WORLDWIDE ACADEMIC SUPPORTSERVICES AND RESOURCES7.1 Institutional Commitment to Effective InstructionUMUC’s faculty members are dedicated to the academic success of their students, most of whom are workingadults, often juggling multiple priorities of family, career, and academic studies. Some students may be thefirst members of their families to attend college. For others, it may have been years since they last enrolled in acourse. It is important for all faculty members, new and experienced alike, to be familiar with these services andunderstand how they can contribute to the academic success of their students.7.2 Summary of Instructional Support Services and ResourcesThe table below summarizes services and resources that directly support classroom instruction at UMUC. Availableto UMUC faculty members worldwide, these services and resources are intended to enhance curricularquality and promote pedagogical best practices. Also listed are the offices or units that provide the resources, aswell as contacts and URLs for additional information.
