(G) Script Review. As an aid to achieving cast integration <strong>and</strong> in order topromote the employment of multi-racial/multi-cultural actors (which includesethnic minorities, women, actors with disabilities <strong>and</strong> senior performers) inpursuance of equal opportunity for all actors, the Producer, at least five weeksprior to principal auditions, shall submit a script or outline of a new or revisedplay, <strong>and</strong> such other related information as may be relevant, to an advisorycommittee of Equity consisting of three members of its Committee for RacialEquality, Women’s Committee <strong>and</strong> Performers with Disabilities Committee. Thiscommittee shall act in an advisory capacity only.After having reviewed the script, the committee shall submit recommendations to,<strong>and</strong> be prepared to discuss with the Producer, director, playwright <strong>and</strong>choreographer, those roles in which ethnic minorities, women, senior performers<strong>and</strong> actors with disabilities might be cast. It is understood that the script isdelivered confidentially <strong>and</strong> is not for publication, that the recommendationssubmitted by the committee are advisory, <strong>and</strong> that the recommendations of saidadvisory committee should be made only after an actual reading of the script. It isfurther understood that the Producer shall have the right to discuss the script <strong>and</strong>the committee’s recommendations with the advisory committee.The committee shall not disclose its recommendations to anyone other than thedirector, the playwright, the casting director <strong>and</strong> the choreographer without thewritten approval of the Producer. If the Producer, or on the Producer’s behalf, thedirector, playwright, casting director, or choreographer, gives such writtenapproval, Equity may disclose said recommendations. However, if the Producer,or on the Producer’s behalf, the director, playwright, casting director, orchoreographer, fails to request <strong>and</strong> make himself available for a discussion withthe committee within ten business days of receipt of the recommendations, theProducer shall be deemed to have approved the disclosure of therecommendations by Equity.6. BINDING EFFECT OF AGREEMENT.<strong>Agreement</strong>s between Producers <strong>and</strong> so-called "packagers", casting consultants,agents, or manager's representatives shall in no way limit or reduce the Producer'sliability or responsibility to fulfill all terms <strong>and</strong> conditions of Equity contracts to which theProducer is signatory.All contracts signed pursuant to these Rules are binding upon not only the signers onthe face thereof, but upon any <strong>and</strong> all corporations, co-partnerships, enterprises, <strong>and</strong>/orgroups which said signers or each of them control, <strong>and</strong> are hereby agreed to beadopted as their contracts by each of them.7. BLACKLISTING.The Producer <strong>and</strong> Equity both pledge themselves to prevent blacklisting in the <strong>Stock</strong>field. Opposition to blacklisting is not a controversial issue between the Producer <strong>and</strong>Equity.14
