And GooHAS ONLY THE ONECHURCH.And all in the Church are cornrnanded to speak the sarnething - and it must be what CHRIST, either in person, or by writtenWord, has taught His apostle.To the Church at Corinth, the apostle Paul wrote: "Now 1beseech you, brethren, by the narne of our Lord Jesus Christ, thatye all speak the same thing . .. " (1 Cor. 1: 10). Sorne of thernwanted to follow Peter, sorne wanted to follow Apollos, sornePaul. But PAUL was their apostle, and Christ taught thern byPAUL.The separated individual believer will follow his own idea ofGod's truth. THAT IS NOT Goo's WAY.God in His alrnighty wisdorn, has raised up the CHURCH, asHIS MEANS of teaching all the SAME TRUTH- all speaking the SAMETHING! Not each individual his own thing!God raised up the CHURCH, not only that its apostles andevangelists go into all the world announcing the Gooo NEWS ofthe corning Kingdorn of God, but also, as the very means for thegeneral body of lay rnernbers to develop God's own holy righteousCHARACTER- by rneans of G/VING- giving their continuousprayers for the apostle, giving their encouragernent, tithesand offerings!WHAT, then, of the person who follows after a rnan outside theChurch- or tries to GET his salvation, sirnply by GETTING -and notGIVING that which rnernbers are to give to the Church's Work? ConsiderJesus' parable ofthe pounds in Luke 19. The pound is the Britishunit ofrnoney.
