THE INCREDIBLE HUMAN POTENTIAL 63Satan has deceived people into almost every other belief.Perhaps the largest number have been deceived into believingGod is a "trinity" - God in THREE persons - LIMITING God tothree persons and misrepresenting the HoLY SPIRIT, which ftowsfrom God and from Christ, to be a single person.Others think ofGod as ONE PERSON ONLY.But notice, again, in the New Testament, John 1:1-5, 14:"In the beginning was the Word." Sounds similar to Genesis1:1, doesn't it? In Genesis 1:1, it is: "In the beginning Ood."But the English name Goo in Genesis 1: 1 is translated from theHebrew Elohim, meaning more than one person forming ONEGod In John 1, the word "Word" in English is translatedfrom the original inspired Greek word logos, which means"word," "spokesman," "revelatory thought," as a being orperson. The next words in John 1, " ... and the Word was with God,and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.All things were made by him; and without him was not any thingmade that was made ... "(verses 1-4).This "Logos" was a person. This person existed "from the beginning"the same as God. He AL W A YS self-existed. He existedwith God. And He, also, was God. He is and was a person. God,whom He was WITH, is also a person. They both coexisted forever."All things" (words elsewhere translated "the universe") weremade by Him- the Word- the Divine Spokesman. But now notice verse 14: "And the Word was made ftesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begottenof the Father,) full of grace and truth." This, of course, isspeaking of Jesus Christ. In the human ftesh, He was begotten ofGod the Father, the only one ever so begotten (before humanbirth). At the time of this begettal and human birth "the Word" becarnethe Son of God.The Father, from heaven, said of Jesus, "Thou art my belovedSon, in whom I am well pleased." Jesus, praying, calledGod "Father"- "Father and Son"- a FAMILY relationship. TheChurch, at the resurrection to immortal SPIRIT life, is to MARRYthe resurrected and glorified Christ (Eph. 5:25-28).
