50 THE INCREDIBLE HUMAN POTENTIALscribed in verse 1 of Genesis l. Verse 2 of this "creation" chapterdescribes a condition resulting from this sin of the angels. Theevents described in verse 2, therefore, may have occurred millionsof years after the original creation of the earth. The earth, therefore, may have been created millions ofyearsago. But continue this passage in Ezekiel 28: "By the multitude ofthy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore 1 will cast thee as profane out ofthe mountain of God: and 1 will destroy [remove] thee, O coveringcherub, from the midst of the stones of tire. Thine heart waslifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdomby reason of thy brightness: 1 will cast thee to the ground ... "(verses 16-17). But God says, "Let this mind bein you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Phil. 2:5). We can, to sornedegree, think even as God thinks. How must God have looked atthe situation, as He started renewing the face of the earth - afterthe colossal debacle of the angels! He had created a beautiful, perfect creation in the earth. Hepopulated it with holy angels - probably millions of them. He putover them, as king, on an earthly throne, the archangel - the cherubLucifer. Lucifer was the supreme masterpiece of God's creativepower as a single separately created Spirit being. He was themost perfect in beauty, power, mind, knowledge, intellect, wisdom, within the almighty power of God to crea te. God can createnothing higher or more perfect, by instantaneous fiat.Yet this great being, knowledgeable, trained and experienced
