He does not - mustnot - commit sin deliberately and willfully in a spirit and attitude<strong>of</strong> rebellion. That's what he has repented <strong>of</strong>! He wants to livecompletely above sin. But to live perfectly would require all spiritualKNOWLEDGE. He would have to live by EVERY WORD <strong>of</strong> theBible. <strong>The</strong> Holy Spirit imparts spiritual perception so he can UN­DERSTAND the Bible. And to understand al/ the Bible TAKES TIME.We have to GROW into the KNOWLEDGE <strong>of</strong> HOW to live perfectlywithout sin.A Christian may, from force <strong>of</strong> habit, or under weakness andtemptation, sin. But if he is a Christian, he is immediately repentant,and on this repentance Christ's sacrifice cleanses his sin(1 John l :7-9).Converted people <strong>of</strong>ten are under heavier temptation thanbefore conversion. Satan exerts more pull than before. <strong>The</strong>y areSTRIVING against sin, STRIVING to overcome. But they are not yetperfect. Sometimes they are caught <strong>of</strong>f guard. <strong>The</strong>y may actuallysin. <strong>The</strong>n they w AKE UP, as it were, and realize what they ha vedone. <strong>The</strong>y REPENT. <strong>The</strong>y are filled with remorse - truly sorry -disgusted with themselves. <strong>The</strong>y go to Goo, and CRY OUT for HELP- for more power and strength from <strong>God</strong> to OVERCOME (Hebrews4: 16).This is the WAY <strong>of</strong>the Christian!lt is the way <strong>of</strong> a constant BATTLE- a striving against SIN- aseeking <strong>God</strong> in earnest prayer for help and spiritual POWER toovercome. And if they are diligent, they are constantly GAININGGROUND. <strong>The</strong>y are constantly GROWING in <strong>God</strong>'s KNOWLEDGE,from the BIBLE. <strong>The</strong>y are constantly rooting out wrong habits,driving themselves into RIGHT habits. <strong>The</strong>y are constantly growingcloser to Goo through Bible study and prayer. <strong>The</strong>y are con-
