So the Board continuesto call upon the church to obey our Lord in a concentrated way when Hecommanded us to:Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send workers intoHis harvest.Matthew 9:38We urge the Synod to continue doing this. There are many indicationsthat He is beginning to answer our prayers. There are some new names thatare already on the horizon. There are several young men who are lookingtowards the pastorate in the years ahead. The Board has begun compiling alist of men available for ministry who are actively preparing for the pastorateor who may be interested in being a teaching elder someday. We are usingthis as a prayer and information guide. If you have names to add to the list,please let your Presbytery Representative know.The Importance of your Presbytery RepresentativeAs should be clear from this report, each Presbytery's Representative onthe HMB is the vital link of communication and action between yourPresbytery and the denominational work of church extension. He alsobecomes a vital link between the Presbyteries as he shares insights,experiences and information with the other Presbytery Representatives. Heneeds to be very familiar with the work in his Presbytery as well as with themeans of support available to his Presbytery from the HMB. The Board isthankful for the each and every one of the Representatives serving. We askthe Presbyteries to continue appointing men who will be the most qualified inyour Presbytery for this work.RECOMMENDATIONS1. That Synod give praise to God for what He has done in the last 7 years ofchurch planting.2. That Synod remind the church to obey Christ's command to earnestly andfaithfully pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out more qualifiedReformed Presbyterian laborers into His harvest.3. That the members of Synod set aside at least one meal time during Synodto fast and pray for this critical need.4. That Synod adopt the new goals of 8 New Mission churches by 2000 andan emphasis on 'daughtering' congregations.5. That Synod encourage the HMB to work with Presbyteries in thedevelopment of an evaluation process which will enhance the appointmentof qualified men to be church planters.6. That Synod affirm the Board's appointment of Dr. Wright to continue, ashe is able, the ministry of a Pastor's Pastor for 1995-97.7. That the Synod hear from Dr. Renwick Wright concerning the Pastor'sPastor program for 5 minutes.8. That the Synod urge congregations to utilize the Pastor's Pastor programduring the coming year.
