REFORMED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 16511. A marriage certificate should be filled out at once, signed by theminister and by the official witnesses, and presented to the newly marriedcouple.If the marriage license has a form to be returned to the issuing office, itshould be filled out promptly and with care. The minister should keep arecord of all marriages performed by him with the names, the date and theplace. Notice should be sent to the local newspaper, and if either party is amember of the church, notice should be sent to the church paper.Mid-Week Fellowship12. Mid-week meetings for fellowship should be held by eachcongregation, and every member should try to participate. These activitiesmay include small groups for accountability, study, prayer, encouragement ofgifts and talents, and social fulfillment. They should all be under the generaloversight of the session.13. Special meetings for prayer may be called when special needs oremergencies arise. Sessions and other leaders of the church should holdfrequent meetings for prayer and conference to seek wisdom and guidancefor the duties pertaining to their office. When no preaching service is held onthe Sabbath, a congregational prayer meeting should be arranged by thesession.Other Church Activities14. The session may authorize other congregational activities ororganizations such as morning or evening church school, youth meetings,vacation Bible school, and men's and women's fellowships. Family and youthconferences may be arranged at the congregational as well as presbyterial andsynodical levels.
