All toilets flush through 4-inch PVC pipe into one horizontal 880-US gallon plastic tank<br />

that empties into a vertical 400-gallon plastic tank. This follows the same design as the<br />

Pisgah septic tanks. This system was built with one snorkel pump aerator in the 800gallon<br />

tank that was powered by two solar panels. The aerator was disconnected several<br />

weeks prior to the evaluation. The septic tank effluent flows approximately 50 feet<br />

horizontally with slight downward pitch to the inlet distribution manhole <strong>for</strong> the<br />

wetl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />
