The results <strong>for</strong> the pH tests are presented in Table 5-10. Average pH <strong>of</strong> the influent to<br />

the Pisgah septic system was determined to be 7.3 <strong>and</strong> influent to the Retrieve septic<br />

system was determined to be 7.2. The pH <strong>of</strong> the effluent <strong>of</strong> both systems was consistent<br />

<strong>and</strong> slightly basic at pH <strong>of</strong> 7.5 <strong>for</strong> Pisgah <strong>and</strong> 7.7 <strong>for</strong> Retrieve which is well within the<br />

Jamaican national effluent st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>for</strong> pH <strong>of</strong> 6 – 9.<br />
