<strong>Kunming</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Botany</strong>, <strong>Chinese</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>of</strong> SciencesAnnual Reportproject produced 13 national invention patents andfostered a number <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional talents. Researchresults have been applied by more than 30 militaryor non-military institutions. Researchers clinicallydifferentiated, screened and identified more than20000 pieces and obtained the gains <strong>of</strong> RMB 46million, creating excellent economic and socialbenefit. This project made breakthrough in therelated field and overally achieved the internationallyadvanced level. Some research results have beenglobally leading, promoting the scientific progressin this field. According to the novelty assessmentreport by Yunnan <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>of</strong> Scientific & TechnicalInformation as the national class-I novelty assessmentinstitution, there is no any domestic or overseasliterature containing the same research results as thisproject within the scope <strong>of</strong> search.Researches on Genes Related to Floral OrganDevelopment <strong>of</strong> AngiospermsAward: Third Prize <strong>of</strong> Award <strong>of</strong> Natural Sciences <strong>of</strong> Yunnan ProvinceMain Investigator: ZHAO Yin-He, LI De-Zhu, LIU TaoMain Participant Unit: Yunnan Agricultural University, KIBResearch results:Funded by Natural Science Foundation <strong>of</strong> China and Ministry <strong>of</strong> Science and Technology <strong>of</strong> China, DoctorZHAO Yin-He from Yunnan Agricultural University has established cooperation with Researcher LI De-Zhufrom KIB, and conducted researches on genes related to floral organ development <strong>of</strong> angiosperm since 2004.They focused on researching Asarum caudigerum <strong>of</strong> basal taxa <strong>of</strong> angiosperms, Castanea mollissima (eudicots),and Incarvillea mairei whose stigma is able to close automatically during floral organ development, which issignificant for revealing the origin and evolvement <strong>of</strong> angiosperm flowers.—— ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS ——
