Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of SciencesAnnual Reportand Collection of Medical Plant Resources ofBijie and Study on DNA Barcode" were approved.According to statistics on the efficiency oftechnological cooperation projects between Yunnanand Guizhou, the sale revenue reached RMB 980million in 2012, including RMB 770 million fromdrugs and pharmaceutical cosmetics and RMB 210million from featured agriculture. Characteristicagricultural technology projects, carried out incooperation with local communities, have increasedincomes of more than 50000 peasant households.(2) CooperationIn 2012, KIB, the People's Government ofJiaxing, and the People's Government of Haiyanjointly established "Haiyan Engineering &Technology Center of Kunming Institute of Botany ofCAS". This engineering center signed formal projectcooperation agreements with three companies inZhejiang. Its work place occupies an area of 1000m 2and it has nearly 5.33 hectares of experimentaland demonstrative land. Relying on KIB and inconsideration of local technological, ecological,social and market development demands, the centeris based on scientific research results exhibition andpromotion, project cooperation and talent fostering,and focuses on transfer of scientific research resultsof precious edible fungus, high-grade flowers,innovative drugs and traditional Chinese medicines.It will set up scientific and technological cooperationwindows for transfer and transformation of scientificresearch results.(3) KIB successfully held the AAS (Alliance ofAcademies of Sciences) biodiversity field strategiccooperation seminarTo further enhance and promote study on thebiodiversity protection and utilization of China, the"Biodiversity Field Strategic Cooperation Seminar"was held in KIB in 2012. It was organized by theBureau of Cooperation with Localities and Industriesof CAS and co-organized by KIB. 67 representativesfrom more than 40 institutions including provincialacademies and affiliated institutes, biodiversityresearch institutions of CAS, the Forestry Departmentof Yunnan Province, Yunnan Academy of AgriculturalScience and Yunnan Academy of Forestry attendedthis seminar. Through exchange and discussion, allthese institutions thought it necessary to establisha national biodiversity alliance organization whichmay promote and improve the capabilities of selfdevelopmentand innovation of alliance membersthrough talents, academic interaction, cooperativeresearch and multidisciplinary integration so as torealize sharing of natural resources, technologicalinformation and scientific research conditions.(4) KIB participated in the construction ofinnovation clusters in the sustainable resources andbiodiversity application region in Southwest ChinaIn cooperation with Kunming Institute ofZoology, KIB actively participated in the constructionof innovation clusters in the sustainable resources andbiodiversity application region in Southwest China,and undertook tasks of pre-researching, organizingand applying for the project of "Biological DrugsDevelopment and Industralization Demonstration inSouthwest China". This project mainly structures theoverall pharmaceutical development industrial chainand technological innovation system ranging fromresources development to preclinical research.(5) KIB participated in the construction ofGuizhou Technological Innovation PlatformRelying on our advantage on talents, KIBactively participated in the construction of the subcenter"Guizhou Modern Resource TechnologyResearch and Results Transformation Center ofCAS" jointly established by CAS and the People'sGovernment of Guizhou Province.—— INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND REGIONAL EXCHANGES ——
