In the year 2011, he was granted "WANG Kuan-Cheng Award forOutstanding Achievements to Western Scholars". He is an editor of Plant Diversityand Resources. In May, 2012, Dr. ZHANG Shi-Ba was introduced to Key Laboratoryof Economic Plants and Biotechnology of KIB through the national "OutstandingTalents Program" and became the leader of the research group and a researcher of theLaboratory.Dr. HUANG Jin-Ling introduced to KIB through "Outstanding TalentsProgram"Dr. HUANG Jin-Ling, born in November, 1964, Yuzhou, Henan, received hisdoctor's degree in 1995 in Institute of Botany, CAS and 2000 in University of Georgia.He was sponsored later by AHA and NASA on the postdoctoral research and is nowan associate professor at Department of Biology, University of Georgia. He's engagedin the research of genomics, especially the function of horizontal gene transfer in theevolution of eucaryon. In October, 2012, Dr. HUANG Jin-Ling was introduced to KeyLaboratory of Biodiversity and Biogeography, KIB and became a researcher and theleader of the research group of the Laboratory.5. Development of Current Talents TrainingDr. LUO Xiao-Dong, received sponsor from "National Science Fund forDistinguished Young Scholars"Dr. LUO Xiao-Dong, born in January, 1970, Doctor of Science, Deputy Directorof State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry of Plant Resources in West China, is alsoa researcher and doctor supervisor. He has been performed the postdoctoral visit orinvestigation in the City University of New York, USA and University of Oxford, theU.K. Deputy Editors-in-chief is now the Deputy Editor-in-chief of Natural Products& Bioprosecting and an editor of the Journal Chinese Pharmaceutical Association; hehas been granted awards and tiles including Outstanding Scholar of "Western Light"by Organization Department of CPC Central Committee and CAS, CAS Award forOutstanding Achievements to Western Scholars and CAS Award for OutstandingMaster Tutor and has published over 70 papers as a first author or correspondingauthor in the international core periodicals such as Chemical Reviews and OrganicLetters. The group led by him has cooperated with Yunnan Institute of Materia Medicawith the achievement of project "Preclinical Study on the Novel Structure, BiologicalActivity and New Drugs of Plant Resources including Alstonia scholaris" winingthe second prize of Yunnan Science and Technology Natural Science. Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of SciencesAnnual Reportrecognized and appraised by the international counterparts and in addition, neemplant source of pesticide developed cooperation with enterprise obtained "TemporaryPesticide Registration Certificate" and allowed to use in AA (organic) grade greenfood production(NY/T393-2000).Dr. XIONG Wen-Yong, gained selective support of "Hundred TalentsProgram" of CASDr. XIONG Wen-Yong, born in 1976, Yanshan, Yunnan, Doctor of Science, aresearcher of State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry of Plant Resources in WestChina, Doctor Supervisor, is also a member of American Diabetes Association andNew York Academy of Science. He had been engaged in the diabetes related researchfor many years in University of Southern California and Cornell University. InFebruary, 2011, Dr. XIONG Wen-Yong established "the Research Group of DiabetesTreatment Drug Screening and Mechanism of Action" in KIB, which is focused onthe research of network regulation of adipocyte differentiation, molecular mechanismof insulin regulation GLUT membrane transport and insulin resistance of diabeticanimals. He has published 14 papers regarding this research area in the internationalperiodicals such as Diabetes and Molecular Biology of the Cell. In 2012, Dr. XIONGWen-Yong gained selective support of "Hundred Talents Program" (Category A) ofCAS and was granted sponsor by National Natural Science Foundation of China.Dr. ZHAO Jin-Hua, sponsored by "Outstanding Technical TalentsIntroduction" Program of CASDr. ZHAO Jin-Hua, born in September, 1965, Wuwei, Anhui, Doctor of Science,a researcher of State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry of Plant Resources in WestChina and Doctor Supervisor. He is a member of Master of Pharmacy/Master ofEngineering (pharmaceutical engineering) Degree Educational Advisory Committeeof Graduate University of CAS. Dr. ZHAO Jin-Hua was selected into "HundredOverseas High-end Talents Introduction Program of Yunnan Province" in 2010; and"Outstanding Technical Talents Introduction Program (hundred technical talents)"of CAS in 2012. Dr. ZHAO Jin-Hua has researched and developed many innovativenatural medicines, including: Chinese medicine Category 1 Xin Yao Hu Zhang GanInjection (clinic IIb phase); Category 5 Chinese Medicine Xin Yao Ai Xin TongPian (clinic III Phase); Innovative Marine Drug Injection Feng Shen Su (chemicalcategory 1.1), Se-MVII (chemical category 1.1); leading the research and preparationof innovative drug PPARγ agonist and tyrosine kinase inhibitor; the innovative drugBiyuan Ruanjiaonang has been approved and put into the market.
