PREP SCHOOLEnjoyable DiscoveryPrep’s comfydress codeDid everyone in Pre-Prep forget toget dressed on June 19?Of course not – it was Pyjama Day!Always a favourite event for Pre-Prep children and teachers, thisyear’s Pyjama Day was filled withplenty of pyjama-related activities.As well as wearing their PJs,children brought a special bedtimefriend to <strong>School</strong> and enjoyedactivities including paintingbananas in pyjamas, listening tobedtime stories and making up theirown.At the end of the day children andteachers made popcorn and drankhot chocolate while watching amovie.A perfect end to a perfect PyjamaDay.Pictured: Left - Pre-Preps enjoying spendingthe day in their PJs; next page - Prep studentsembrace the opportunity to learn aboutIndigenous culture.Making learning fun<strong>KWS</strong> Prep <strong>School</strong>’s Year 1 studentshad fun interpreting the HSIESyllabus’s Transport Unit in Term 2.The Prep <strong>School</strong>’s academic programis based on the NSW Board ofStudies’ Key Learning Areas and ourteachers work hard to ensure thesubjects are presented in interestingand innovative ways.Teacher Jodie Allen and her youngcharges in Class 1A had fun usingthe internet for their Transportstudies.“One of the activities was to usethe internet to find a picture of ourchosen form of transport, print thisout and use it in our Art lesson thatweek,” Jodie said.18“The children were asked to copyand sketch their chosen form oftransport from the printed picture.We then painted it, along with abackground for display.“The children were so proud of theirachievements, as was I.”
