Inspiring workshop ‘transforms’ string players<strong>Two</strong> <strong>KWS</strong> string players wererecently honoured with an invitationto take part in the AustralianChamber Orchestra’s StringOrchestra Workshop.Anthony Solari and Michelle Luk(pictured right) were the onlystudents from outside the Sydneymetropolitan area chosen toparticipate in the annual event.The students received the repertoirefor the workshop several weeks inadvance, and worked hard preparingthe pieces with Head of StringsLorraine Moxey and music teacherFroukje Werlemann.The teachers accompanied Michelleand Anthony to Sydney, where thepair rehearsed and played alongsidemembers of the Australian ChamberOrchestra before performing in aconcert for parents, friends andteachers.“The before and after transformationof the orchestra was amazing asthe group of students, who hadnever played together, were drilledand refined into an outstandingensemble,” Lorraine said.“As usual our students did us proudand came away inspired and verykeen to participate again next year.”5
