2010-20112011IBGROUP 4 PRESENTATIONThe Group 4 project of the IB Curriculum requires that we, students of the IB, participate in a collaborative experience whereconcepts and perceptions from across Physics, Biology and Chemistry are shared. The goal of the project is to allow students toappreciate the environmental, social, and ethical implications of science and to understand the limitations of scientific study.After a brainstorming session, we decided that our topic for the project would be light. Then we had to design and carry out experimentson our topic in all three science subjects, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, working with our team members. One of themain aims of the Group 4 project is to bring us together and teach us through experience how to effectively collaborate with eachother, accept each other’s views, work in a safe and ethical manner, in order bring our specific tasks to completion.We all worked very hard to present our results in the best way possible. We all put in a lot of effort and time to make our presentationinteresting and attractive to the people watching it. We prepared posters and invitations that we placed in school and usedto invite fellow students, teachers, and members of the management.As IB2 graduates we feel now at the end of our IB2 year that we are fully prepared to undertake such experimental investigations,analyze results, and write extensive reports and essays not only in the sciences but also in Greek, English, Economics, ITGSand Theory of Knowledge. The skills that we have gained through these two years will be our tools for success in our future academicand professional lives.Of course, the IB is not all hard work! As IB students we do have fun! We will definitely never forget the moments we all sharedduring CAS where we gave back to our society by taking part in charity events, by being creative, and even by acting on specifictasks and goals that we set up for ourselves!Eleni Iosif, 6IBAndreas Panteli, 6IB41
