Citation analysis is animportant and useful tool for the evaluation of the pr<strong>od</strong>uctivity ofscientists and scientific institutions, but also for the evaluation ofscientific publications. This paper presents the citation analysis ofthe journal TURIZAM/TOURISM based on data from t<strong>od</strong>ay’s threemost relevant databases - Scopus, Web of Science, and GoogleScholar for the peri<strong>od</strong> 2000 – 2011. This paper presents the content analysisof 308 scientific articles published in the twelve volumes of thisjournal (in the peri<strong>od</strong> from 2000 to 2011). The analysis includesdata on the authors, key words, and categories of the CST assignedto each article during expert analysis. The objectives of the studywere twofold: 1) to examine the connotations of the term “international”in the journal’s title and 2) to examine the topical areasthat attracted the authors of the scientific papers; the connotationsof the term “interdisciplinary” in the journal’s title. The results ofthis analysis will be used to extend the classification scheme.
