In the firstyear of language study, students will learn to communicate in simple words, phrases and sentences on a variety of topics dealing withthemselves and their environment. Through skits, role plays, memorized and spontaneous dialogues, students will develop the fourlanguage skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students will also begin to familiarize themselves with various aspects of theculture, geography, history, art and people of the countries where the language is spoken.
