Additions and Alterations Services

A division of JEC, Thermal Private Limited successfully upgraded
the mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning (ACMV) systems
for the additions and alterations (A&A) to the Pan Pacific Hotel
Singapore, a 37 storey, 5-star luxury hotel located at the gateway
to Singapore’s Central Business and Financial Districts.
The project was executed on a fast track basis with all A&A works
completed within three months, and by accounting for the heavy
structural and building modifications, the ACMV upgrade took just
over two months. As such Thermal deployed a workforce of about
100 staff and workers on a 7-days-a-week basis to complete the
upgrading works for the 840 guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens and
other public areas.
To overcome the space constraints of the ceiling profile and the
requirements of various new systems for the 25 year old building,
the team dismantled and replaced all the existing duct work in the
kitchen. They were closely supported by the in-house fabrication
team in order to customise the ducting.
Another major challenge was the replacement of the chilled water
pipes, which were over 10 years old. As they are prone to faults and
leakages, the pipes were replaced and checks were made without
engaging the pumps to avoid additional pressure. The pipes are
then thoroughly checked before running the pump again.
Other systems that were replaced include air handling units, fan coil
units, risers, condensers, dampers, linear diffusers and grilles.

工 作 人 員 解 決 因 喉 管 量 身 訂 造 所 引 致 的 空 間
問 題 。
為 解 決 天 花 板 的 空 間 限 制 及 25 年 樓 齡 建 築
物 的 各 種 新 系 統 的 需 求 , 工 作 人 員 拆 除 和
替 換 廚 房 內 所 有 現 有 的 喉 管 道 。Thermal 的
建 構 團 隊 全 力 協 助 工 作 人 員 量 身 訂 造 喉 管
的 設 計 。
另 一 個 難 題 便 是 更 換 已 屆 10 年 的 冷 凍 喉 管 。
皆 因 冷 凍 喉 管 很 容 易 出 現 故 障 和 滲 漏 , 工 作
人 員 更 換 喉 管 和 為 它 們 進 行 檢 查 , 避 免 使 用
水 泵 構 成 額 外 的 壓 力 。 工 作 人 員 開 動 水 泵
前 , 也 先 徹 底 檢 查 。
此 外 , 項 目 的 工 作 範 圍 也 包 括 更 換 空 氣 處 理
機 組 、 風 機 盤 管 機 組 、 豎 板 、 空 氣 壓 縮 器 、
避 震 器 和 排 風 口 。
