Caring Team Visits the Elderly at Lamma Island
怡 和 機 器 義 工 隊 到 南 丫 島 探 訪 長 者
The JEC Caring Team, in collaboration with St. James’ Settlement,
visited elderly residents on Lamma Island together with a group of
children, ranging in age from 6 to 10 years old, from the Hong Kong
Youth Services (HKYS) on 19 th May 2012.
Although it had been raining heavily for the past few days before the
visit, the weather turned out to be perfectly sunny on that day. JEC
Caring Team members and children were divided into eight groups
to carry out the visit. To show our sincerity, JEC had prepared “lucky
bags” for the elderly in advance and gladly, received their shiny
smiling faces in return.
This visit provided children a chance to express themselves and
communicate with strangers in a new environment. In addition,
all the elderly were very nice and kind, they were happy to share
lots of own interesting experiences with us. JEC caring team
members and the children from the HKYS. Most importantly, the
children, together with JEC Caring Team members, could take this
opportunity to express deep gratitude to the elderly for what they
have contributed to our society in the past.
2012 年 5 月 19 日 , 怡 和 機 器 義 工 隊 與 聖 雅
各 福 群 會 攜 手 合 作 , 連 同 一 群 介 乎 6 至 10
歲 來 自 香 港 青 少 年 服 務 處 的 孩 子 們 探 訪 南
丫 島 的 長 者 。 活 動 前 幾 天 的 天 氣 相 當 不 穩
定 , 幸 好 天 公 造 美 , 當 日 天 色 晴 朗 , 陽 光
普 照 , 怡 和 機 器 義 工 及 孩 子 們 分 成 八 個 小
組 進 行 了 這 次 探 訪 。 為 表 心 意 , 怡 和 機 器
義 工 隊 預 早 製 作 了 「 福 袋 」 送 給 長 者 們 。
各 長 者 在 收 到 禮 物 後 亦 顯 得 相 當 滿 足 。
此 行 給 孩 子 們 一 個 很 好 的 機 會 , 學 習 在 一
個 陌 生 的 環 境 下 與 剛 認 識 的 長 者 互 相 交
流 , 長 者 們 都 十 分 友 善 , 他 們 無 不 興 高 采
烈 地 與 義 工 隊 成 員 及 青 少 年 服 務 處 孩 子 分
享 其 有 趣 的 生 活 經 歷 。 孩 子 們 與 怡 和 機 器
義 工 隊 成 員 喜 獲 此 機 會 去 關 心 及 表 達 我 們
的 謝 意 予 這 些 曾 為 社 會 作 出 積 極 貢 獻 的
長 者 。
