1 egg, slightly beaten<br />

1 C sugar<br />

1 1/2 C sweet milk<br />

4 C flour<br />

1 t salt<br />

4 t baking powder<br />

Beat well and add one cup chopped nuts. Let stand in greased pan for<br />

20 minutes. Bake in a fairly hot oven one hour or more.--Hannah<br />

HEALTH BREAD<br />

1 small can Brere Rabbit molasses<br />

3 eggs<br />

1 T salt<br />

1 C sugar<br />

4 C milk<br />

6 C Pillsbury bran<br />

7 C white flour<br />

8 t baking powder<br />

Add raisins, figs or nuts to your liking. Will make four loaves.--<br />

BRAN BREAD<br />

2 cups sour milk<br />

2 cups bran<br />

2 cups flour<br />

1 cup brown sugar<br />

1 cup nuts<br />

2 heaping teaspoons baking powder<br />

1 rounded teaspoon soda<br />

1 level teaspoon salt<br />

Mix bran, flour and sugar. Stir soda in sour milk and add. Next stir<br />

in flour and baking powder. Add salt, and last, the nuts and<br />

raisins. Place in pans and bake about one hour in moderate oven.<br />
