5 lb. cherries, pitted<br />

4 lb. sugar<br />

1 pt. vinegar<br />

2 T ground cinnamon<br />

1 T ground cloves<br />

APPLE BUTTER<br />

7 C apple pulp<br />

7 C sugar<br />

1 1/4 t cinnamon<br />

1/2 t cloves<br />

1/2 t nutmeg<br />

1/4 t allspice<br />

2 T vinegar<br />

Salt<br />

Quarter and cook apples and put through colander Add other<br />

ingredients and cook until thick. Seal hot. --Mrs. Mattie Swan.<br />

CANNED PINEAPPLE<br />

3 qts. pineapple, cut up<br />

2 1/2 pts. sugar<br />

2 1/2 pts. water<br />

Make a syrup of sugar and water. When it has boiled a few minutes<br />

add the pineapple and cook about five minutes. Seal at once. --Mrs.<br />

CANNED BEANS<br />

1 qt water<br />

1 C sugar<br />

2 qts. wax beans<br />

Scant C salt<br />

Boil well, water, sugar and salt, then add beans and boil three
