2008, a consumer association filed suit against a
telecommunications company to prevent the sharing of private
information of subscribers with third parties without consent. Also,
in April 2009, there was a news release that asbestos containing
ingredients were used in baby powder of a major brand, and a
consumer association is contemplating on filing suit against the

Kyu Wha Lee is a senior partner and head of the corporate and M&A
practice group at Lee & Ko. He has over 18 years of experience in
representing multinational companies in corporate and M&A
matters. As part of the corporate practice group, the product
liability team led by Mr. Lee has, even before the relevant statute
was introduced in Korea, been instrumental in creating some of
Korea’s most critical precedents in product liability related disputes,
including the explosion of a television and undue acceleration of an
automobile.
Mr. Lee received his LL.B. from Seoul National University, MCL from
George Washington University, and J.D. from Tulane University. He
was admitted to the Korean bar in 1983 and to the New York bar
in 1991. He currently serves as an arbitrator for the Korean
Commercial Arbitration Board.

Sedong Min is a partner at Lee & Ko working primarily in the area
of corporate practice. He received his LL.B from Seoul National
University in 1997 and his LL.M in 2006 from Georgetown
University Law Center in Washington D.C. He attended the Judicial
Research and Training Institute at the Supreme Court of Korea from
1997 to 1999 and was admitted to the Korean bar in 1999. His
work is focused largely on M&A related matters, joint ventures,
product liability and litigation relating to corporate matters.
