7.3 If so, are there any restrictions on the availability of public<br />
funding?<br />
The conditions for obtaining legal aid are relatively strict. They<br />
will normally be fulfilled however, if the case is of sufficient<br />
significance and the applicant has a low annual income. The gross<br />
income must not exceed NOK 230,000 a year for a single person or<br />
NOK 345,000 for a couple sharing their income and expenses.<br />
7.4 Is funding allowed through conditional or contingency fees<br />
and, if so, on what conditions?<br />
No such arrangements are permitted under Norwegian law.<br />
7.5 Is third party funding of claims permitted and, if so, on<br />
what basis may funding be provided?<br />
There are no rules in Norwegian law prohibiting such funding.<br />
