Ngong Ping
360 Cable Car
A gateway to discovering Lantau
Island, the journey begins with a 25 minute
cable car ride from Tung Chung and offers a
spectacular bird's eye view of the deep blue sea and
surrounding lush greeneries. The end of the ride will see you
greeted by the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village, which
provides delightful shopping and dining experiences. Since
it is Chinese New Year, why not make a visit to the Big
Buddha? Located within a few minutes’ walk from Ngong
Ping 360 cable car station, the bronze Big Buddha statue is
the second-largest outdoor sitting Buddha in the world. And,
here's another fun fact: there are about 268 steps you need
to climb to take a closer look of the statue.
To Get There: Take Exit B from Tung
Chung station, follow the signs and
walk about 2-3 minutes to the
cable car counter.
Lan Kwai
Fong
At Lan Kwai Fong, the night is
always young as evident through the
throngs of clubs, bars and restaurants lining
up the street. A must for party goers and people
watchers, Lan Kwai Fong is one of Hong Kong's
most popular nightlife hot spots which houses over
90 restaurants and bars. It hosts carnivals, festivals
and even has its own beer festival. An often lively
place, Lan Kwai Fong is usually filled with workers
taking a rest after a day's labour.
To Get There: Take Exit D2 from MTR
Central Station, walk along Theatre
Lane and uphill to D'Aguilar
Street. About 5 minutes walk
to Lan Kwai Fong.
Tsim Sha
Shui
If you are into shopping, then
Tsim Sha Tsui might just be the place
to be. Dubbed as one of Hong Kong's best
shopping districts, stalls, shops, markets and malls
are aplenty here. Be marvelled as you take on
the streets to find Bollywood-themed memorabilia,
Shanghainese tailors, sweet-talking restaurant touts,
gorgeous gems and jewellery, flashy cameras,
international brand name stores and Asian street
label boutiques. Alternatively, you can also slip into
a number of spacious and plush malls along the
streets such as iSQUARE, The One and K11.
To Get There: Take Exit P1
from MTR Tsim Sha Tsui
East Station.
