1 ) Tilastollinen kuntaryhmitysluokitus 2013 perustuu vuoden 2012 lopun väestörakenneaineiston perusteella tehtyyn taajamarajaukseen.
K = kaupunkimainen, M = maaseutumainen, T = taajaan asuttu. Kaupunkimaisia kuntia ovat kunnat, joiden väestöstä vähintään 90 % asuu taajamissa tai suurimman
taajaman väkiluku on vähintään 15 000. Taajaan asuttuja kuntia ovat kunnat, joiden väestöstä vähintään 60 %, mutta alle 90 %, asuu taajamissa ja suurimman taajaman
väkiluku on vähintään 4 000 mutta alle 15 000. Maaseutumaisia kuntia ovat kunnat, joiden väestöstä alle 60 % asuu taajamissa ja suurimman taajaman väkiluku on alle
15 000, sekä kunnat, joiden väestöstä vähintään 60 %, mutta alle 90 %, asuu taajamissa ja suurimman taajaman väkiluku on alle 4 000.
2 ) Aluejako 1.1.2013 mukainen lukuunottamatta osakuntaliitoksia. Vuosina 1960–2000 koko Längelmäen kunta liitetty Jämsän lukuihin.
3 ) Vuoden 2012 tilaston mukaan 100 suurinta kuntaa.
1 ) Den statistiska kommungrupperingen 2013 baserar sig på den tätortsavgränsning som gjorts på basis av material om befolkningsstrukturen i slutet av år 2012.
K = urban kommun, M = landsbyggdskommun, T = tätortskommun. Urbana kommuner är de kommuner i vilka minst 90 % av befolkningen bor i tätorter eller där den
största tätortens folkmängd är minst 15 000. Tätortskommuner utgörs av de kommuner i vilka minst 60 % men under 90 % av befolkningen bor i tätorter och den största
tätortens folkmängd är minst 4 000 men under 15 000. Landsbygdskommuner är de kommuner där mindre än 60 % av befolkningen bor i tätorter och den störstä tätortens
folkmängd är under 15 000 samt de kommuner där minst 60 %, men under 90 %, av befolkningen bor i tätorter och den största tätortens folkmängd är under 4 000.
2 ) Regionindelningen enligt 1.1.2013 med undantag delinkorporeringar. Åren 1960–2000 har hela Längelmäki kommun överförts till siffrorna för Jämsä.
