Telesom’s efforts to bring mobile and financial literacy to the<br />

market with Zaad lower the cost of entry for Dahabshiil. Does<br />

Dahabshiil’s consolidated, banking-lead approach provides a value<br />

proposition to an increasingly savvy consumer base?<br />

With increasing advances in their ecosystem, we see<br />

Dahabshiil and Somtel with their e-Dahab and financial<br />

ecosystem of banking and remittance as likely to take a bite<br />

out of Telesom’s B2B market share. <br />

However, we believe that the unique dependence on cellular<br />

voice services (due to a largely pastoral and highly oral<br />

society) will provide Telesom with a standing value<br />

proposition through its integration between its widely used<br />

mobile offerings and Zaad.<br />

We believe that Zaad’s growth to date, based partially on<br />

Telesom’s intense awareness of customer needs and the<br />

local market, will maintain their standing as an important<br />

transitive platform as the market matures.<br />
