Public Services<br />

Develop your personal skills and academic knowledge in leadership,<br />

human behaviour and team working while gaining the skills and<br />

knowledge required by employers in the uniformed public services.<br />

This course is designed to prepare you for a career in a range of public<br />

services including the police, ambulance and fire services, the armed<br />

forces, prison and security services or local and central government<br />

such as HM Revenue and Customs.<br />

You will develop a broad understanding which is relevant to the<br />

widest career opportunities. Core units include: Crime and its Effects<br />

on Society, Team Leadership, Understanding Discipline, Government<br />

Policies & Citizenship and Contemporary Society. Specialist units<br />

can include: Physical Preparation & Fitness, Command & Control,<br />

Understanding Aspects of the Legal System and Law Making Processes.<br />

There are no formal exams but there will be continuous assessment<br />

throughout the course.<br />
