Public Services
Develop your personal skills and academic knowledge in leadership,
human behaviour and team working while gaining the skills and
knowledge required by employers in the uniformed public services.
This course is designed to prepare you for a career in a range of public
services including the police, ambulance and fire services, the armed
forces, prison and security services or local and central government
such as HM Revenue and Customs.
You will develop a broad understanding which is relevant to the
widest career opportunities. Core units include: Crime and its Effects
on Society, Team Leadership, Understanding Discipline, Government
Policies & Citizenship and Contemporary Society. Specialist units
can include: Physical Preparation & Fitness, Command & Control,
Understanding Aspects of the Legal System and Law Making Processes.
There are no formal exams but there will be continuous assessment
throughout the course.
