The course is designed to develop
transferable skills, knowledge and
attitudes in readiness for paid
employment. The programme is
unique in its approach, in that the
whole programme is based at an
employer’s location. Students will
develop Employability, Customer
Service, Confidence, Maths, English
and ICT whilst working alongside
real employees in a real employment
setting. The course is the final step
of your education journey prior to
finding full time paid employment.
The course is designed to ensure
the learners participate in a range of
vocational subjects and prepare for
progression onto one of the Pathway
courses; it will embed the essential
expectations of an FE College into a
programme of study that will include
Maths, English and ICT alongside
accessing the community, developing
aspirations for future employment
and building confidence whilst
working with others.
For most learners the course is the
first step on our 3 year curriculum
that follows the vocational
progression route (those that
would eventually like to secure
employment).
