This course is aimed at those learners
with a creative streak. It will develop
skills and knowledge relating to a
range of arts and crafts; painting, clay
modelling, drawing, basic jewellery
making and project work.
The course will set up an Art
Enterprise whereby artworks will
be displayed around college and
in galleries to be sold to generate
income for learners. Additional
enterprise activities will see learners
set up a greetings card business.
This course is for those who want to
progress into mainstream Art and
Design. It will also develop maths
and English as part of a ‘study
programme’.
The course is designed to aid
transition to College; it will embed
the essential expectations of an FE
College into a programme of study
that will include Maths, English
and ICT alongside accessing the
community, developing aspirations
for future employment and building
confidence whilst working with
others.
The course is the first step on our
3 year curriculum that follows the
vocational progression route (those
that would eventually like to secure
employment).

The course is designed to develop
transferable skills, knowledge and
attitudes in readiness for paid
employment. The programme is
unique in its approach, in that the
whole programme is based at an
employer’s location. Students will
develop Employability, Customer
Service, Confidence, Maths, English
and ICT whilst working alongside
real employees in a real employment
setting. The course is the final step
of your education journey prior to
finding full time paid employment.
