As Body Worn Cameras
(BWC) become more
front line ambulance staff,
traffic wardens and security
guards to name a few, we
can sometimes forget the
additional benefits these
wearable cameras offer.
Edesix provides frontline workers
across the globe with tools for
deterring violence, capturing
evidence and convicting acts of lawbreaking,
The Resuscitation Research
Group, University of Edinburgh
The Resuscitation Research Group
(RRG) works on improving Out-of-
Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA)
outcomes. The whole ‘Chain of
Survival’ from the emergency call
the patented Flexi-Ramp. The flat
fold ramp was the first of its kind and
allows the boot space to be utilised
when a Wheelchair is not being
transported. The conversion uses
the vehicles original seats meaning
that the best safety and comfort is
achieved for the other passengers.
Winches can be added, along with a
headrest for the wheelchair user. The
vehicle can be made fully wipe down
to adhere to cleaning standards.
The Large Patient Transport
conversions offered by Alfred
Bekker can utilise the unique
RolliBox System. This system
allows the vehicle to carry up to 4
rugged tablet mounting system
creates a safe, vibration-resistant
transport environment.
The Intel®-powered D10 boasts
high field performance ratings as
well. It is IP65 rated, MIL-STD-
810G tested, and ATEX compliant
to withstand the bumps, bruises,
and constant disinfection common
has to be optimised. RRG selected
the Edesix VideoBadge BWC for
their Resuscitation Rapid Response
Unit (3RU).
The Use of a BWC for
Assessment and Debrief
The VideoBadge is securely attached
to the paramedic’s uniform,
requiring only a single-touch to
start recording, leaving hands and
concentration free to focus on
clinical tasks. Footage is encrypted
on the device until it is offloaded to
the VideoManager, complying with
medical confidentiality.
or any combination in between. A
Stretcher can also be added, meaning
that the system can be adjusted
depending on the requirements of
that particular run. The Wheelchairs
places have headrests and threepoint
seatbelts, whilst four-point
secures fold out from the side. This
keeps the system in the vehicle
cause any corrosion issues and can
be used on any equipment inside the
vehicle including medical devices, soft
out in under 10 minutes and a
vehicle is available and back in use
within 30 minutes.
bio-burden.
on the job – even in Hazardous
Locations – and it will keep up with
fast-paced tempo first responders
must maintain regardless of the
rain, bright sunshine, dust, or snow.
Several data entry options are
available (via touchscreen, stylus,
keyboard, barcode, or camera) for
real-time documentation of patient
data into multiple applications – all
of which will run strong for up to
20 hours with the hot swappable
battery option.
