day, when she becomes the youngest
contestant ever to win a two-year
scholarship to the Milan Fashion Academy.
There she meets Bianca, a selfproclaimed
Italian ‘princess’ and these
very different girls become friends
based on their shared passion for music
and fashion.
Bianca has what Maggie lacks - a sense
of organisation. In fact Bianca Lussi is
Maggie’s exact opposite. She has order,
control and perfection. She also has
preppy style and snob chic, which is no
surprise when you realise that she was
born and raised in one of Italy’s most
wealthy provinces, Lake Como. She’s
the queen of her household and loves
being the centre of attention. Bianca
grew up having everything… and nothing.
This is her problem. It’s the reason
why today Bianca has no dreams. She
only loves one thing: music. But she
won’t admit this to herself, because
music is banned from her house.
Maggie & Bianca: Fashion Friends
promises to delight audiences around
the world with a tale of two cultures
coming together. There’s also a fantastic
supporting cast of friends, enemies,
acquaintances, teachers and eccentrics,
played by a talented team of actors
who bring further drama, humour
and excitement to this show.
And there are two other key players
in this exciting new series. The Milan
Fashion Academy is one of them. It’s
the school in which the passion for
fashion unites distant cultures,
diverse ideas and
students from all around
the world, but also a
place where the students
work hard, take tests and
try to succeed in order
to stay on at the school
and achieve their dreams.
But sometimes they just
want to cut loose and
express themselves. And
that’s where the other
key player is involved.
Music - the passion of
both Maggie & Bianca -
takes centre stage right
from the start. The two
friends both always hang
out at the Milky Way,
the coolest bar with live
music on campus. But when the bar
is threatened with closure Maggie and
Bianca decide to save the Milky Way
by forming a music band with their
friends and playing a special concert.
The band is called MoodBoard and
the preparations for the concert, the
auditions, the mistakes, the joys, the
betrayals and the defeats that lead up
to the big night will play an important
part in the series. It’s the story of the
birth of a band, with all of its ups and
downs. Every day will bring quarrels,
peacemaking, stolen kisses and solemn
promises - until the night of the big
concert!
Launching in late August 2016, and
with a target audience of tweens aged
9-14 and kids aged 6-11, Maggie & Bianca
Fashion Friends is ready to rock
the world of millions of young viewers
with music and fashion, comedy and
drama. It’s also building a strong licensing
base with a number of key licensees
already signed up, led by Simba as
the pan-European master toy licensee.
Many more licensees are expected to
join in the coming months.
The show is filmed at Italy’s famous
Cinecittà studios in a theatre completely
dedicated to Maggie & Bianca
Fashion Friends.
Filming of the first season has just finished.
It ends with a big surprise, which
we won’t reveal here. But with series
two already in production it won’t be
the only surprise, we’re sure!
