What was the interview process like?<br />
<strong>The</strong> quick turn-around two-stage process<br />
made me so comfortable. <strong>The</strong>re was a<br />
relaxed, conversational style and I felt<br />
they genuinely wanted to know me. Even<br />
meeting the Regional Director, he was<br />
friendly and open, making me want the<br />
placement even more.<br />
What advice would you give to<br />
students applying for your role?<br />
Be open, ask questions. Although<br />
everyone has the same goal at Lidl, each<br />
department is different with so many roles<br />
and areas of expertise. If you like waking<br />
early, taking responsibility and want to<br />
get stuck in, this is the placement for you.<br />

very grounded in what they do.”<br />
What do you most enjoy about your<br />
role?<br />
My friends doing placements only<br />
work in one business area, but I’m<br />
constantly changing, readying me for<br />
my final year. <strong>The</strong> variety is outstanding<br />
- real responsibility, complete trust and<br />
everyone really wants to get to know you.<br />
What is the office atmosphere like?<br />
I love everyone here. I think everyone’s<br />
got a really good sense of team culture.<br />
Everyone’s very grounded in what they<br />
do, especially the higher up people get,<br />
it’s as if they become more down-to-earth<br />
here.<br />
How promising are the graduate<br />
prospects?<br />
I can still stay in contact with Lidl<br />
through my final year and be a Brand<br />
Ambassador, something I know I’d enjoy.<br />
I love the company and having done the<br />
placement I could apply for a job straight<br />
away or join a graduate schemes for<br />
more exposure.<br />
How has this experience exceeded<br />
your expectations?<br />
It’s gone beyond. You aren’t really sure<br />
what a placement’s going to be like when<br />
you’ve never really worked a full-time job<br />
before. All I did has definitely exceeded<br />
my expectations – I got exposure to so<br />
much - I’ve travelled pretty much all over<br />
the country and been involved in such a<br />
variety of things.<br />

are the same in Lidl UK; there are always<br />
unexpected challenges. Irrespective, I thrive<br />
off this and look forward to each day.<br />
