What was the interview process like?<br />
Not as scary as it sounds! I had two<br />
interviews on the same day, one for<br />
each role I applied for. I was mainly<br />
asked competency-based questions so<br />
I could expand on answers I gave in my<br />
application. I also had the chance to ask<br />
anything I was unsure about.<br />
How much responsibility do you have?<br />
I supported on things like volunteer<br />
recruitment, chose musicians for our<br />
events and managed the logistics for<br />
the North London Half Marathon. I felt<br />
completely trusted to make my own<br />
decisions, but also had support and<br />
guidance available when I needed it.<br />

What advice would you give to<br />
students applying for your role?<br />
<strong>The</strong>re are so many equally fantastic roles<br />
available – choose 2 you’re passionate<br />
about and agree to be considered for<br />
other roles. Whatever role you take on<br />
will give you an invaluable experience<br />
and you can really make it your own.<br />
What do you most enjoy about your<br />
role?<br />
I loved the variety of tasks I was given<br />
throughout. My highlight has to be<br />
volunteering at the London Marathon<br />
and seeing all the months of preparation<br />
culminating in a fantastic day for our<br />
supporters, volunteers, runners and their<br />
families.<br />
How has this experience exceeded<br />
your expectations?<br />
It was so well organised and every<br />
resource for personal development was<br />
at our disposal – I had an intern manager<br />
and a mentor, access to CV workshops<br />
and online courses, was responsible<br />
for my own project and assisted at<br />
prestigious events.<br />
How promising are the graduate<br />
prospects?<br />
Excellent. My current paid role utilises<br />
many of the skills I developed during the<br />
internship. Many of the other interns from<br />
my intake have since gone on to find<br />
employment both within the sector and<br />
beyond.<br />
