What was the interview process like?
The process was fairly challenging
but enjoyable because everyone is so
welcoming that it gave me a good insight
into what working at SAP would look like.
How much responsibility do you have?
Throughout the year as you build trust
with your team, you are given more
responsibility. For instance, I have a very
trusting relationship with the management
team in my department and that enables
me to work on confidential projects.
“The whole culture at SAP
encourages you to work within
dynamic teams and build a
strong network.”
What do you most enjoy about your
role?
Working collaboratively with a variety
of different people to solve the
unpredictable business challenges that
arise.
What advice would you give to
students applying for your role?
Be prepared and willing to take on
unexpected challenges that will come
your way, because the IT industry is
very fast paced and change is always
challenging for organisations – being
involved in that is always exciting.
What has been your biggest
challenge?
Recognising people’s expectation of your
work capacity – you aren’t expected to
complete everything that comes your
way. Be empowered to say no and don’t
overwhelm yourself.
What is the office atmosphere like?
I work within a very friendly and
welcoming team and the atmosphere
in the office reflects that. The whole
culture at SAP encourages you to work
within dynamic teams and build a strong
network.
How promising are the graduate
prospects?
Very promising, early talent is a major
priority for a lot of organisations, SAP
included. If you consciously work towards
that and prove how you can add value to
the organisation then there is no limit to
your opportunities.
@RateMyPlacement I’ve had an
incredible year at @SAPUKIreland. The
opportunities I have had within the Digital
Business Services team have exceeded my
expectations – I would highly recommend a
placement with SAP to anyone looking for a
challenge
