POPPY MATERIAL RENTAL COSTS<br />
320. In reference to Subsection 1104.b. of the General By-Laws,<br />
Branches and Commands may charge “pre-determined<br />
storage costs” of Poppies and wreaths, promotional aids<br />
and canvassing supplies to the <strong>Poppy</strong> Fund. However such<br />
costs will be determined by Dominion Command.<br />
a. for Commands:<br />
i. Interior space in the Command building—<br />
A maximum of 200 sq. ft. may be compensated<br />
at $7 per sq. ft./year for a full 12 months<br />
($1400 a year maximum); and<br />
ii. Exterior warehouse space—A maximum of<br />
200 sq. ft. at $3.50 per sq.ft/year for a full<br />
12 Months ($700 a year maximum).<br />
b. for Branches: (prior command approval is required)<br />
i. Interior space within the Branch—A maximum of<br />
3 months (1 Sept. to 30 Nov.) compensation at $7 per<br />
sq.ft./year for 200 sq. ft. (a total of $350 a year); and<br />
ii. Exterior warehouse space—A maximum of 3 months<br />
for 200 sq. ft. at $3.50 per sq. ft./year<br />
(a total maximum of $175 per year).<br />
c. The manner of administering requests from branches to<br />
charge pre-determined storage costs to the <strong>Poppy</strong> Fund is<br />
left to the discretion of the Provincial Commands.<br />
AFTER THE CAMPAIGN<br />
321. It is not mandatory that wreaths and crosses collected from<br />
the Cenotaph be destroyed. They may be used in another<br />
manner to promote Remembrance, such as for display at<br />
community cemeteries or placement at Veterans’ gravesites.<br />
Used wreaths and crosses SHOULD NOT be re-sold.<br />
