ART SHOW 111 - MORE FEATURED ARTISTS
In last weeks article it was promised that more
artists would be featured who are exhibiting at the
ART SHOW 111 at at Desert Patio in Rancho Mirage.
The artists featured in this show are multi
talented and creative in a variety of arts and art
related areas. One artist/designer in particular,
Bruce Tunis, is especially eclectic in his creative
endeavors. His biography includes his training
in art where he attended the former Chouinard
Art Institute in Los Angeles which is now titled
the California Institute of Arts. Bruce has been
influenced by the changing art forms of the past
and current century. Art Nouveau and Art Deco
were particularly influential in developing his
personal style.

After completing his training at Chouinard he
worked in Los Angeles creating paintings on canvas
as well as interior murals. Before leaving L.A.
he began designing custom dog houses. Now that
he is in the desert he continues his painting and
has added designing and producing folding room
screens and free standing box lamps. His painting
has evolved into a more contemporary look of
which he has examples at the show. One painting
shown in this article is titled,”Last Days of the
Salton Sea” displaying his artistic commentary on
a local issue.
His work can be seen in a variety of locations with
murals at Disney El Capitan and Crest Theaters,
at hotels in Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Las
Vegas all the way to Alaska. He has been featured
in Los Angels Times, Designers West, L.A. Style
Magazine and the Desert Sun.
His work is available to be viewed and purchased
along with the other artist at the 111 Art Show
throughout December, at Desert Patio 70-020
Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage. This show is a
pleasured to view and appreciate a wide variety of
art from local gay artists.
