REBEL CELEBRATES ONE YEAR OF ART AT THE BACKSTREET ART DISTRICT
WITH A RETROSPECTIVE OF THIS YEAR’S ARTISTS
Palm Springs, CA. – November 29, 2016 – At the December 7 th Art Walk, REBEL art space
will celebrate one year of Art with a retrospective of all the great artists they have presented
this past year. Highlighting the anniversary show will be the very timely new works of
southern-born international artist Lawrence Wells. Wells’ new works reflect a chilling political
commentary of the isolation of the aristocracy whose vision of the world comes through
computer screens and on smart phones.
Additionally, REBEL will offer special pricing of all the current work in stock. “In these times of
uncertainty and political unrest, we need to remember that art is a language of dissent that is
both powerful and transformative. “We want to make sure that it is affordable to all as well,”
states REBEL gallerist, Melanie Brenner.
About REBEL art space: REBEL art space has been open one year in Palm Springs south
end Backstreet Arts District. REBEL is the collaboration of three longtime friends who share
a love of art along with their Southern Heritage. Kerry Hamilton, Lucius Lamar and Melanie
Brenner have long discussed their vision of a space for new and new to the area artists to be
exposed to the burgeoning art world of the Coachella Valley. The mid-century Backstreet Arts
District is the perfect place to house their gallery.
The Gallery is located at 2604 South Cherokee Way in Palm Springs with plenty of free
parking and beautiful mountain views. Hours are Wednesday thru Sunday from 12 to 4 and by
