Dear Readers,
As the year draws to a close, we have much
to celebrate. We are delighted to announce
our seventh consecutive profitable quarter
with a net profit of ` 59 crore for Q2 FY 2017
– an increase of 103% over the previous year.
Operating revenue for the quarter stood at
` 1,400 crore, a growth of 35% and capacity
deployed registered a growth of 38%.
SpiceJet has now recorded the highest
Passenger Load Factor for 19 months in a row.
Since April this year, it has been in excess of
90% every single month. You continue to fly
SpiceJet in large numbers and we thank
you for this.
Your support has also helped us achieve
the best On-time Performance (OTP) among
all the Indian carriers for October 2016, a
feat we expect to repeat in November. Our
flight cancellation rate remains very low
and this combined with our leading on-time
performance makes SpiceJet India’s most
reliable airline.
SpiceJet received global recognition for its
performance this month. At the annual World
Travel Leaders Awards at WTM (World Travel
Mart), London, SpiceJet was awarded for its
incredible turnaround, and was the only airline
in the world to receive recognition this year.
SpiceJet’s revival is now a global case study
and we are proud of what we have achieved.
Demonetisation was the highlight of
the month, a laudable effort that despite
temporary inconvenience, will provide far
reaching gains in the future. I encourage you
to use the many digital booking mechanisms
available on our website. I especially
recommend you try SpiceCash, our soon-tobe-launched
e-wallet.
This month, SpiceJet continued to
promote sport in India. We were the title
sponsors for the first senior national boxing
championship for women held in Haridwar. This
championship will help identify boxers who will
win medals in the future and make India proud.
We also proudly sponsored the Delhi Dynamos
football team that is doing so well in the Indian
Soccer League, 2016.
I take this opportunity to wish you
fun-filled celebrations this month, the
festivals for this month being a blend of
both contemporary tastes and folklore.
Beginning with The Rann Utsav or the
Kutch Mahotsav, a celebration within the
white sandy deserts of Kutch, one will
witness the vibrancy of the Kutch region’s
culture and heritage whilst staying in
desert camps. This month, Goa will host
the three day Sunburn festival with scores
of entertainment, dance and music artistes
congregating there.
Avail our 12 daily flights to
Ahmedabad and 10 daily flights to Goa
from across all metros and more. Then
there is the Mount Abu festival with
traditional dancing, concerts, fairs, and
fireworks easily accessible from Udaipur –

and on ground with our customary fun
and gaiety.
In the first 10 months of 2016, over 10.3
million domestic passengers have already been
carried with a further 1.35 million passengers
on international flights. By December, we
appear to be on course for carrying about
14 million passengers for the year. This is a
remarkable success possible only through your
unflagging faith in us and also your constant
patronage. Meanwhile, as a truly Indian airline,
we continue to work with you to create a
clean, digital and vibrant India. A better India.
