INDIAN AIRPORTS TO GET
FULL-BODY SCANNERS
INDIA-JAPAN TOURISM MEET
FOR THE FIRST TIME
One full-body scanner will initially be
launched at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi
International Airport. Full-body scanners
had previously been resisted in India due
to concerns over privacy, but officials
have reassured the public, stressing
that the devices do not produce images
of exact body contours, but instead
only undertake a “targeted search” for
concealed prohibited items.
Japan Tourism is expanding its
Tourism Meet organised by FICCI in Delhi from October 24-25. Dr. Jyotsna
Suri, Chairperson, FICCI Tourism Committee, said, “Japan is the 10th largest
source market for India with around 2.07 lakh Japanese arrivals in 2015.”
