Christmas is one of<br />
the biggest festivals<br />
of the year for the<br />
Christian<br />
community the<br />
world over.<br />
Observed as a religious celebration that<br />
commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ<br />
on <strong>December</strong> 25, the festival is symbolic<br />
of mirth, goodwill, love, peace and<br />
forgiveness. Come <strong>December</strong>, the cheer<br />
of the season finds its way into the<br />
hearts of people of all faiths. In India,<br />
too, the Christmas holidays have a knack<br />
of bringing people together. Fairy lights<br />
illuminate entire neighbourhoods; cribs<br />
that recreate the nativity scene pop up at<br />
every street bend; and churches start<br />
preparing for midnight Mass. Markets<br />
take on a festive appearance as eager<br />
