The structure of the Organisational Committee was divided into the Central<br />

Organisational Committee and Local Organisational Committees. The head<br />

of the Organisational Committee was the Vice-President for Development;<br />

the person reporting to him was the Tournament Director – the operational<br />

& executive business leader acting as Project Manager. Persons reporting<br />

to the Tournament Director were Heads of Sections responsible for particular<br />

areas and for the performance of employees / specialists reporting<br />

to them. In order to provide operational support of project management to<br />

the Tournament Director, the Project Management Office (PMO) was also<br />

established to co-ordinate tasks of particular departments.<br />

Local Organisational Committees were responsible for the effective performance<br />

of tasks entrusted to them due to the knowledge of circumstances<br />

specific to the given Host City.<br />

In 2014, 4 persons worked in the EURO 2016 Department; in 2015, the<br />

number of employees regularly grew, reaching around 30 in November<br />

2015. At that time, short-term co-operation also began to be established<br />

with persons for the period of the EHF EURO 2016 project (for maximum<br />

periods November – January and minimum period for the duration of the<br />

Tournament itself). Eventually, 105 persons were employed in the EURO<br />

2016 Department in four Host Cities during the Tournament.<br />
