DEJAN PERIC
As a player Dejan Peric started his career in Serbia, Belgrade, but he soon moved
abroad. For many years his name was associated with Slovenian side Celje, with
whom he won the EHF Champions League in 2005. He repeated this feat just one
year later when he played for FC Barcelona and added another trophy to his tally
when he won the Cup Winners' Cup in 2008 with Veszprem. In 2011 he returned
to Celje where he ended his playing career in 2013. When his predecessor Vlatan
Matic resigned after Serbia had failed to reach the World Championship 2015,
Peric – already Matic's assistant back then – took over; first as an interim solution,
then in early 2015 he was officially made head coach.
