HEAD COACH<br />
ZELJKO BABIC<br />
Zeljko Babic jis the young coach of the Croatian national team. In a playing career<br />
cut short by injuries he won the European Champions Cup, the predecessor of the<br />
EHF Champions League, twice (1992, 1993) with the best Croatian club Zagreb.<br />
He soon became a coach. His career has seen him take charge of clubs such as<br />
Split, Metkovic, Krsko (Slovenia), Zagreb and Meshkov Brest (Belarus).<br />
Since 2009 he has been a member of the Croatian Handball Federation as<br />
an individual coach for the World Championship in Croatia, assisting in the<br />
preparation and competition.<br />
In 2010 he became an assistant coach of the Croatian national team. During this<br />
time, Croatia has won three bronze medals at the European Championship 2012<br />
in Serbia, Olympic Games in London in 2012 and at the World Championship<br />
2013 in Spain.<br />
After Slavko Goluža left, he took charge of the national team for EHF EURO 2016<br />
qualification. He has a good relationship with many players having trained them<br />
in the junior selection.<br />
