Excerpt from the EHF EURO 2016 Preparation Roadmap
In co-operation with Deloitte, the main areas of tasks relating to the preparation
of EHF EURO 2016 were identified and divided into four sections:
• Marketing and promotion
• Technical & organisational service
• Finance
• PMO, co-ordination and international co-operation
During the project, it turned out that a series of further tasks should be
planned and performed. The final number of areas of tasks to be planned
and implemented was 32, and the total number of individual tasks to be
performed was 230.
A detailed schedule of works was prepared in division into months and days.
The schedule included:
• Division into organisational areas
• Tasks in separate organisational areas
• Milestones in each task
• Persons responsible for each task and milestone
• Gantt chart helping to analyse the schedule and to prepare reports
Apart from that, rules of reporting work progress reflecting the organisational
structure of the project (i.e., communication and operational reporting
within and between sections and between section employees, heads of
sections, PMO and the Director of the Tournament, and formalised reporting
in the form of regular official meetings of the Steering Committee) were
elaborated with Deloitte’s support.
