The future of the issue is something that is not self healing either. In fact the future looks extremely bleak, as the number of refugees, mostly predicted as environmental refugees, is expected to skyrocket 10 fold within the next 50 years. If serious thought is not put into the solution of this problem and strategies are not put into place on a global level, then the future of humanity certainly is in jeopardy. Policies of borders need to challenged, along with the way we handle refugees, as well as city and place making within our current urban fabric.
