Originally called the ‘alarm reel’,<br />
the design was based on a<br />
standard cotton reel and consisted<br />
of a line and belt, manually fed,<br />
requiring team discipline and<br />
control to use effectively.<br />
Phased out in 1994, it continues<br />
as a distinctive icon in the emblem<br />
of the Bondi SLSC.<br />
