24 MAHILA CONVENTION 2017 – CHAPTER III - A RECAP MAHILA CONVENTION 2017 – CHAPTER III showcased a splendid enthusiasm togetherness, strong team effort and a well organized programme of the Mahila Vibhags of KNSS across Karnataka. Mahila Convention 2017 was conducted at MMET School Auditorium, MS Nagar, Bangalore on 5th Mar 17 also as a celebration of International Women’s Day. It was conducted under the aegis of KNSS Board Members Sidda Hospital, were felicitated for their contributions in their respective fields. This was followed by the Thiruvathirakkali by the Core Committee members led by Smt Shantha Manohar from Mathikere Karayogam and Smt Maya Srinivasan from Jayanagar Karayogan and team which was highly applauded. Key Note Addresses: and all KNSS Karayogams, Mahila Vibhags and Youth Wings across Karnataka. The programme was a grand success with participation of more than 700 members from the Karayogams. As scheduled, the programme started at 9.30 a.m by lighting the lamp by our Chairman Shri Ramachandran Paleri, the • Shri Binu Padmam spoke on Hindu Culture and role of Women in upbringing of family and society. He spoke on Motherhood, inter personal relationships at home and society, and the importance of vedic knowledge and its teachings in our daily lives. The talk inspired the members present and was well appreciated honorable guests Smt Indira Balan & Dr Mini Nair and leaders of KNSS of Mahila Vibhag committee members. 29 Mahila Vibhags across Karnataka participated. Outstation Mahila members from Bellari, Hospete, Mysore, Madikeri, KGF and Shimoga participated. We convey our sincere gratitude to all the outstation mahila members, for their enthusiastic participation in the event. It was amazing to see that being a Sunday, all our members had assembled in • Dr Vatsala, Retd professor of Chemistry Providence Women’s College, Calicut, spoke on the medicinal/ cosmetic/purifying properties of charcoal and its usage in our daily lives. She also mentioned how with modernisation, the values of these ancient healthy remedies are being lost. Hence it is time we revive the value of these products and get back its usage into our daily lives, for a better healthy tomorrow. large numbers on time, which was a demonstration of the enthusiasm of our members. The invocation was rendered by Kum. Sharanya, Doorvaninagar followed by Acharya Vandanam by mahilas of Chandapura Mahila Vibhag, headed by Smt Supriya Priyesh and Smt Srilatha Anil. Pataka Vandanam Visual marked its excellence with participation of the core committee members and mahilas from various Mahila Vibhags. We thank Smt Hemalatha, Secretary Mahila Vibhag Rajaji Nagar for organizing the Pataka Vandanam visual. We salute Shri Krishnan Nambiar, PRO for the eloquent and powerful lyrics of the Padaka Vandanam. The Mahila convenor Mrs Rajalakshmy R Nair, then gave the welcome address. Chairman Shri. Ramachandran Paleri appreciated the Mahila Vibhags in conducting of the Mahila Convention 2017, for the third consecutive year, which represented a good team effort and the organisational skills of the Mahila Vibhags. Vice Chairman-I & Mahila Vibhag Advisor Shri Adv V Vijaykumar, too appreciated the unified efforts of the Mahila Vibhags to achieve greater heights. Then Mahila Board representative to Board, Smt Shobhana Ramadas, in her speech gave the annual report of the core committee with future activities. General Secretary Shri. Manohara Kurup, KNSS Treasurer Shri Vijayan, MMET President Shri OVP Nambiar and Secretary Shri Radhakrishnan Nair, congratulated the Mahila Vibhags for the team effort and wished everyone a Happy International Womens Day. Felicitations : Smt Indira Balan well known poet and writer, and Dr. Mini Nair, Head of Ayurhealing, Ayurveda and The inaugural function was concluded by the vote of thanks by Smt Sreekala KB, Jt Convener. Cultural Programmes: A Patriotic song by Smt Shiji, Mohiniattam by Smt. Sowmya Ranjit, Dance performance by Shri Shanu and team and a fantabulous dance by our Youth Wing, rocked the floor. Mahila Core Committee members rendered a Family skit and finally the grand Fashion Show. The skit was written by Smt Ammini Gopan Horamavu Karayogam, with direction and script written by Smt Sindhu Jayesh, Bommannahalli Karayogam. The fashion show led by Smt Baby Chandran Tippasandra Karayogam, Smt Maya Krishnakumar MS Nagar and team was outstanding. It was a great team event and this convention showcased maximum participation from all the Mahila Vibhags. Our 35th Mahila Vibhag : The adhoc committee members of the 35th Mahila Vibhag formed at Sarjapur were introduced during the event. The programme was anchored by Smt Haritha and Miss Nitya Raveendran, under the able guidance of Smt. Sreekala, Jt Convener who kept the show in high spirits and enthusiasm. Hats off to them. The programme concluded at 2.30 pm and was a grand success, adding a feather on to the cap of the Mahila Vibhags for the third consecutive year. We thank Shri Ramachandran Paleri, Chairman KNSS and his team for all the support rendered in conducting the event successfully. Also all the Mahila Vibhags for their sincere support and co-operation and our MMET Management Team for providing us the MMET Auditorium for the conduct of our Mahila Convention 2017.
