KNSS Karayogam News Ballari On 11.3.17 Karayogam organized Attukal Pongala at Yelumakkala Devastanam in consecutive second year. It was organized by Thunkabhadra Mahila Vibhagam members and supported by executive committee members. The programme started at 10.45am and finished at 12.30 pm. After the pongala worshiped to the deity, the prasada was distributed among the members and passers by. 35 family members participated in this programme. Banashankari The 267th monthly meeting of the Karayogam was conducted on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at its office premises. Sri MKS Nair, the President of the Karayogam, presided over the meeting. The meeting mourned the sad demise of Smt Padmini Amma [75 years], mother of Sri A Saikumar, EC member and A Umashankar and A Madhukumar, life members, who expired on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Kumaraswamy Layout, Bengaluru. A prolonged discussion was held on the conduct of the annual family get-together-2017. In the meeting the organizing committee for the conduct of the AGT-2017 was formed. Sri Rajkumar B Nair is the General Convener of the organizing committee with Sri Dileep S Pillai, Board Director, as coconvener and Sriyuths Ramachandran M, Ramesh Nair K R, Govindan Nair A, I G Sreekumar, Saikumar A, Shaji N V, Ananthakrishnan and Jayakumar B Nair, as members. Sri P I Sanathanan, Board Director, will be the Advisor to the organizing committee and will have an overall supervision on the conduct of the AGT-2017. Attukal Pongala: On Saturday, March 11, 2017, the Karayogam with the active participation of the Mahila Vibhag, organized Attukal Pongala in the premises of Sri Rama Seva Mandali, Vidyapeeth Road, Chennammanakere Atchukat, Banashankari III Stage, Bengaluru. A good number of women from the Karayogam participated in the pongala rituals and got the blessing of the Goddess Attukalamma. The Karayogam appreciates the services of all the office bearers and members, especially, Sriyuths Rajkumar B Nair, Sri Ramesh Kumar K R and M Ramachandran, who rendered their helping hands in the smooth conduct of the event within a short notice. President’s Relief Fund: With a view to help the economically weaker sections amongst the community people, the Karayogam has constituted a fund christened as President’s Relief Fund. May his soul rest in peace. Dooravani Nagar Committee meeting of March 2017 was held at 10 am on 12.3.17 at our office. After the usual prayer, Acharyavandanam, President Sri Srikantan Nair welcomed the members. Secretary Sri Sethumadhavan CK read out the last month’s minutes and the same was passed. Treasurer promised to present the accounts in the next meeting. On 19.2.17, President Sri Srikantan Nair, Secretary, Sri Sethumadhavan CK, along with few EC members visited the house of late Srikumar and handed over to his wife the financial assistance provided by KNSS Board. Our Board Members, Sri N.P. Parameswaran Nair in collaboration with LIC, sponsored 20 mementoes, to MMET and Vidyamandir School children who secured high marks in each class, ie., from Std.1 to 10. This was distributed during the annual days of the respective schools. Committee congratulated Mr.Parameswaran Nair. Secretary, Sri Sethumadhavan CK, donated two ceiling fans for our office. Most of the EC members have agreed to donate new chairs to Karayogam office. Membership: The application of Mr Satish kumar for membership was approved. Meeting concluded with vote o thanks by the Vice-president at 1pm. Halasuru This month, we invited the recently inducted Karayogam members to the Karayogam Office for a self introduction meeting on 12-3-2017 at 10.30 a.m. and also to meet them in person and to introduce the EC Members to them. 23 new members attended the said meeting. Shri K. Rajkumar, President, welcomed all the new members and EC members present in the meeting. In his welcome speech, the President said that he never heard about such meetings of inviting new members for their introduction in the Karayogams but expressed his happiness that the Karayogam is implementing better and new ideas to have proper communication among the members and Karayogam. He congratulated all the EC members for their support. As a gesture, in the hands of President and Treasurer, a welcome letter quoting the Karayogam membership number, a photograph of NSS founder leader Mannath Padmanabhan were handed over to all the new members conveying Karayogam’s thanks to them for joining in Halasuru Karayogam. Thereafter the Secretary briefed them about the KNSS, its functions, its strength, number of Karayogams in Karnataka, activities being implemented and conducted at KNSS Board and Karayogams’ level. Further he requested all to join in the Benevolent Fund, become share holders of MCCS, subscribe for KNSS News Bulletin and also to extend possible financial help to the students of MMET. At the end of the session, our New members - Dr. K.R. Siva gave a cheque of Rs.10,000/- Shri B. Madhusoodhanan Nair gave a cheque of Rs.5,000/- and Shri N.K. Soman offered Rs.10,000/- for Karayogam Fund. New membership of Ms. P. Geethamani was approved by the EC. Shri S. Shankaranarayanan Nair, Shri P.K. Govindan, Shri C. Ravindra Menon and Ms. P. Geethamani submitted application for enrolment in Benevolent Fund while Shri P.K. Govindan, Shri C. Ravindra Menon, Shri T.G. Ajithkumar Pillai and Shri Anilkumar R. subscribed for the KNSS News Bulletin. Benevolent Fund applications were distributed among the new members. Thereafter the monthly EC meeting was held. The President once again welcomed all and sought their support and help for the smooth functioning and growth of the Karayogam. He congratulated the Mahila Vibhag for their active participation in the cultural activities in Mahila Convention, their involvement in making spice powder and its sale at the venue of Mahila Convention. He also conveyed his thanks to other members for supporting and assisting the Mahila Vibhag for this cause. Shri O.T. Unnikrishnan, Secretary, read out the minutes of previous meeting held on 12-2-2017 and the same was approved. During the discussion, the Secretary informed that a letter to all the ECs informing that the EC meeting of Karayogam will be held on every second Sunday of the month at 10.30 a.m. has been sent by Speed Post. He further informed that Narayaneeyam and Yoga Classes are being conducted regularly in the Karayogam office. The KNSS Directory 2017 received from the Board has been distributed among the Office Bearers of Karayogam, Mahila Vibhag, Youth Wing and to the two advertisement sponsors. The committee appreciated the efforts and hard work put by Mr. Radhakrishnan, Ex- General Secretary of KNSS for publishing and releasing the directory. The Treasurer Shri K. Ravindran read out the Accounts for the month of February-2017 and was approved by the committee. He requested the ECs to take remedial steps to improve the financial conditions of the Karayogam and requested them to get donations from Members and Well Wishers. It was decided to conduct an exclusive free counseling session for children of 10th Standard and 12th Standard of KNSS members, residing in and around Bangalore on 2-4-2017 and 16-4-2017 respectively at 11.00 a.m.… contact numbers 8197084286, 9343343226 and 9739017045.. email..knsshalasooru@gmail.com.
