Soon after, he published The Elector Palatins<br />

Declaration, lately published in favour of his protestant<br />

subjects, &c.<br />

This Mr. Toland did, at the<br />

particular request of theelec tor Palatine's minister.<br />

In the spring,<br />

Mr. Toland went to Germany,<br />

and visited Berlin, Hanover, Dusseldorp, Vieima,<br />

and Prague in Bohemia. At Dusseldorp, he was<br />

most graciously received by his electoral highness,<br />

who, in consideration of the English pamphlet,<br />

published by him, presented him with a gold chain<br />

and medal, besides a hundred ducats. From<br />

Prague, he returned to<br />

till 1710.<br />

Holland, where he staid<br />

In Holland, he published the follo'wing dissertations,<br />

viz.<br />

1st,<br />

Adeisidoemon, sive Titus Livitis a Snperstitione<br />

Vindicatus, ^-c.<br />

2do, Orig?ies Judaica?, ^^c. In the course of<br />

this dissertation, he animadverted on Hi(ctiits' Demonstralio<br />

Evangclica. He ridicules Huetius for<br />

affirming that several eminent persons recorded in<br />

the Old Testament are allegorized in the heathen<br />

mythology; and particlnarjy Moses under the
